Irene Nikolopoulou is a journalist, one of the longest – standing presenters of news and programmes on Greek television. She made a name from the exclusive interviews she held with international personalities and was the main host of the two official programmes of the Organizing Committee for the Athens Olympic Games in 2004.

At the age of 6 she began to learn French & English . Showing a particular flair for foreign languages and arts, she was involved with singing and the theatre throughout her time at High School and into her first years at University.

She studied Law, Public Law and Political Science at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and went to study abroad aiming at becoming an interpreter but ended up as a TV journalist . She started in ΕRT2 and then continued on in private channels for 15 years MEGA, STAR, ALPHA before returning to ET1 & ERT WORLD.

She was the founding President for the European Network of Greek Women Journalists and the Association of Greek French- speaking Journalists.

Irene decided to run her own holistic communications company for about 10 years before falling in love with blogging and creating www.eirinika.gr, www.madeingreece.news and www.enikolopoulou.gr

In 1990 she was honored with the United Nations journalistic Award Honorary member for the 200th anniversary of the French Revolution (1989) «AVRA THEODOROPOULOU»Award from the Association forWomen’s Rights (1999) «KonstantinosKalligas» Award from the Association for European Journalists (2000) Most popular newscaster (2001) Charity organization ‘Hamogelo touPaidiou (Smile of the Child)’ (2008) and was named Greece’s Ambassador of Excellence for EuropeanDestinations (EDEN) (2009).
