Stylianos N. Lagarakis was born in Athens. He received his Medical Degree in General Medicine from the Ovidius University in Constanta. He has studied psychiatry, psychodrama and group analysis.

He participated in the deinstitutionalisation of Leros Asylum and has been a leader of therapeutic supporting groups in hospitals, prisons, therapeutic communities and the Hellenic Navy. He has lead workshops and seminars in Greece, in many European countries and also Turkey, Israel, Brazil and West Africa. He has been the main therapist in a repatriation project, supported by the Hellenic Ministry of Health, of a Bangladeshi psychiatric patient. He has sociodramatic experience using the values of sociatry of Moreno in an Athenian theatre, open to the public, focusing on social themes. He is the author of several psychotherapeutic articles and of a book to be released entitled “Sexuality and Psychodrama”.

He is the founder of the Centre of Athenian Psychodramatic Encounters (C.A.P.E.) and of the Hellenic Summer Psychodrama Academy. As a therapist he has received several distinctions. He is currently working as a therapist, an educator and a practitioner of psychodrama in Athens.
